Best way is to ask for rides from more experienced drivers or ask someone to ride with you if you are running in the first group, you'll get through the initial sea of cones shock

Print out a course map. Driver friendly course due to everyone being a little rusty. Find #92 Brian Heintzman who will be the novice co-ordinator for this event.
I assume you have lowering springs as see you are in M3 instead of S5. Check your fluids, tires pumped up to 40psi to start. There will be a novice walk. A novice talk. Preride with experienced driver and have an instructor ride along too. EASY. You control the throttle and brakes = take it easy the first couple times. You are not alone. Bring roll of blue or green painter's tape to make your numbers with.

In the unlikely event Steve has forgotten or hasn't seen this I'll remind him. Usually he posts those forms a day or two before the event. Entry isn't closing until midnite.

Okay thanks Doug! I have lowering springs and camber kit-I had it set to neutral position. I guess that should work for now? About to go to buy some oil/fluids now. I am also thinking of flushing the brake fluids out to totally replace it, then bleed air. What time does the event usually ends?

Right after you and a few others help me rebuild the police course and police the lots for trash so we are welcomed back by SPC

We will try extra hard to be out of there well before 5pm, awards in hands, as a general rule.

Yeah, we're usually done by around 4pm. Plan on heading over to Beef O'Brady's afterward and just call it 6-7pm.

I haven't forgotten the forms - for all 10-12 people who will bother to print them ahead of time. I email SPC. I wait a few days. I email again. Then I call. "We got no email." "Please unspam my address and send the forms." Then I get the forms. I called this afternoon. Should have forms tomorrow, if lucky and will post in p.m. Aight?

I can head to Beef O Brady's as long as my wife won't bother me. She's planning to go with me at the event but I'll ask her to invite somebody, so they could go somewhere else if they got bored watching us

Airplane stripper from any autosupply will bubble the finish off in minutes and water wash off. Or you can use brake cleaner which also washes the paint or clearcoat right off. (I found that out once unintentionally.)

You can drive the Muskrat with me if you want. I need some help with my driving skills and car set-up any ways. Reply if that is cool with you. I have a "1" if you want to change your number to 127 or 271.

A friend has a lead on a company that does sand blasting, so I will hopefully try that. Let me know if you know an outfit that can do that. It's surprisingly difficult to find such a service or rent a bead blast machine... at least for me.

It's surprisingly difficult to find such a service or rent a bead blast machine... at least for me.

I did it outdoors so I noticed no fumes. You don't want it near any painted surfaces that's for sure. That's assuming you want them down to bare metal? Blasting is a practiced art. You tend to lose metal. I did a set of 75 Cosworth Vega mag wheels once that were originally painted that turned out nice after blasting and repainting. BUT they were impossible to find.

You can send your wheels out to any number of places to be factory reconditioned but it's just as cheap to buy new wheels anymore. Aren't racing wheels supposed to look black dusted anyhow? Clean the dust off. Roughen the surface with 600grit or fine steel wool. Paint directly with (no primer) rustoleum high temp 1200F BBQ flat black bugbomb. It will leave a rough looking surface at first. Allow to fully dry. Take an orange shop rag and wipe off the dried surface and it will look smooth flat black and awesome. Recoat if needed and repeat. That's how I painted now gone old Ford's wide hood stripe to cover gone clearcoat (like Drew's) and it looked professional the whole 3 years I had that car:) For less than $10. Touchup is a no brainer.

I have used Aircraft Stripper and the fumes are very minimal. Working in the medical field most of my adult life, breathing purified air I am some what sensitive to fumes. It really is easy to use. Simply paint it on with a paint brush and wait about a minute and spray it with a hose to deactivate the chemical.

I have a 1/4 can of unused stripper I can bring Saturday if you would like to try before you buy.
