I might be wrong, but I think Kim means that the kart will still be in a normal run group and grid up with other cars, but runs by himself on the course with no other cars running out there at the same time. I don't think she means that the kart will get consecutive runs.

With other clubs, we would run the karts in between heats. We would do worker change outs while they were running since no car was allowed to move at the same time as them.

For example, put them running at the end of heat 1 and start sending out heat 2 workers while they are running.

Let them have consecutive laps. Would you want to wear a fire suit for over an hour waiting for your turn in grid?

When karts are involved, there's a few rules to follow IMO.

All karts have to run together, back to back.
Absolutely NO cars can be MOVING while the karts are running.

If you want the karts to run in say, group 1, let them all run, at the end of the group.

If you have three karts, run them 1-2-3-1-2-3-1-2-3-etc until all their runs are done.

It's far to dangerous to run cars and karts at the same time.

Why would you have to get consecutive runs? I was under the idea that your Kart would run in a regular car group and grid just like the other cars. I now know that because of insurance reasons this isn't possible.

Karts require their own grid area and can't be moving while cars are moving. Period. That's a given, and has been stated elsewhere.

So, the only way to run karts is to STOP the event (all cars off course, everybody in grid and parked) to run a kart.

It just makes sense given all of that to run the kart or karts in a single group as quickly as possible. Just run 'em and be done with it, then get back to running cars. That's the least disruptive way to do it.

Why would people care if I get consecutive runs? I won't even be competing with any of the other classes. Plus, I will finish all of my runs in a matter of (hypothetical math---> 8 runs 1:00 min a piece at the most) 8:00 minutes. Is this going to ruin everyone's day? Tell me what the issue is with getting consecutive runs in a kart? I don't really care about the times, and if the powers that be told me that I had to wait until the official event is over to get 8 min of course time (refer to the calculation above) then so be it. It's all about fun isn't it?????

He'd HAVE to get consecutive runs because 1) he's the only kart running, 2) it's unacceptable to run cars and karts together) and 3) maiking him stop the kart and wait around, then waiting for all cars to stop and shutdown, then starting his kart, letting it warm up for a few seconds (assuming it's a 2 stroke, they don't like to rev much until a little warm, my 2stroke doesn't like to go above 8 grand without breaking up until warm then it'll go to 13.5-14k), etc.

Don't worry about it. As for the bike, I need a clutch and a new drum, and that's a good $400 in friggen parts. I need to sell this damn bike and get a kart someday - after I sell the S2K. Solid and fun ass bike otherwise though

I got it guys, (see first post on this page ), I got it figured out thanks to Jeremy, and I'm not offended

I was under the impression that the Kart would be running with a regular run group (I was wrong). Then I found out that a Kart couldn't run at the same time as a regular car. So I figured that the Kart would run alone on the course, but still be gridding(wrong again). (I was straightend out by Jeremy, see first post again).

Then Jeremy asked if I'd like wearing a fire suit for an hour and I just said that, "No, I wouldn't. But if I did "choose" to run in a Kart, I wouldn't expect any special treatment." That's all, it had nothing to do with anyone running in a Kart, it was just my opinion on having to wear a fire suit. 8)

In any case, if I still have both by next autox, if you can help me out by transporting the "for sale" kart, you can test drive it! That might sway you to speed up your kart purchase decision! Plus I'll give you a good deal! What do you say?

I doubt the kart will fit in the back of the Integra, and def won't fit in the S2K If Brad lets me drive his Miata for all the runs and skip bringing the S2K I could transport it with a truck I have access to though.

I might have to come by and take a look, I'm in the woodberry/lakewood area of Brandon. Plus if I test drive it I couldn't prove how outclassed S2K's are compared to Miatas when I beat Jeremy with a Miata this event (Jeremy, I'll pay you to lose. j/k ).

I can't go to this event. There is an SCCA event scheduled the same day and I am obligated to be there, since I am an organizer with them.

I am really anxious to do a non-runway course in the dry with the s2000. Maybe someday.
