20 Sept Post-Event

Postby jev61 » Sat Sep 20, 2014 4:03 pm

Very interesting course today, fun, fast, and challenging. I hope everyone else enjoyed it as much as I did today.

I have some more work to do on the car, the tail was a little too loose for my liking. I'll lower the rear a turn and see how I like it.

I was digging the grip up front and the turn in. I also was able to up-shift and down-shift without upsetting the car, that was good too.

I wounder if that's why my back end kept coming around it's set 1"-1 1/2" higher then the front. I didn't notice it until I was on the grid

Greg was my salvation when he rode along on the first run but I desparately needed his direction in finding my way thru the "Normandy obstacle course" beginning portion. It just looked so different sideways. Thanks Greg.

I could have done better with one of those snowmobile based motorcycles on this one. They added the "goddammit Loren" cone to the forever diminishing slalom. We need that kind of thinking in the Treasury. The gift that keeps on removing.

So today's rule was "stay clean...yeah right", get your tires hot really early and steer with the loud pedal while jerking irradically on the tiller. Buzz with his Mister2 was crazy fast on this one. I have no clue how Jeremy pulled a clean 43 out of that course? Nor does anyone else. They will build a monument to him some day. Like this? This is where my ashes will be spread some day.

Awesome weather in the late session, I was not expecting that. Had a great time as usual and my car is responding so well to the minor mods. Can't wait for the next event!

My sincerest apologies to the run 2 course workers in the afternoon. I was definitely pushing harder but I was definitely not sucking less.

This was a really novel Brooksville course design.

Joe it probably only took Mazda 17 hours to build that car in 1999.

How many hours do you have in it now?

A Vette won S1 from the morning session?

Rob 45+ in #1, Loren 45+ in #2 me 46.727 in #3 for S2. I think I was .1 faster than Buzz in ES MR2....geesh.

IRS Camaro man won S3 with a 46.0 I think?

Chuck won S4 in 46+ from morning.

Can't remember the mod classes. That should give you an idea of how fast mod could have been? Anyone not in the 45's probably didn't win their class in mod?

Some people will not want to know what the PAX would be if we did one:)

So there's your teaser. Ron looked extra tired today.

I count in years not hours:) It takes along time to find parts laying on the highway that fit.

Insert "loose Ford parts" joke here.

Great event.

Enjoyed the course...quite the variety...slow, speed, tight, and open. Possibly my favorite at Brooksville which is not my favorite location.

New Rivals worked like a champ-I know there was an easy 44 in my car with another run or three...but not today. I left happy nonetheless.

Thanks for the thrills.
