Re: October 13th TBD post event
2nd or 3rd place is anyone's this year. Definately makes for a fun season. Shelby Mike will have to be limited to only 5 runs tho' just to keep us all on the same second. Wonder when "The Scrapyard Baron" will show up with his Frankenstein Miata swap Stang with 7 cylinders, 3 brakes, 10" 5 bolts, 315 4yr old tires and fearless driving to give us even more competition?Cool Rod wrote:Some tight pony car competition in S3 with only 0.264 seconds separating 2nd thru 4th places.

Re: October 13th TBD post event
Just wanted to thank Fast for providing such a great venue for the sport. My first time and had most fun in a long time. Thanks Greg introducing me to Fast and some cool people, Allen for showing me how to work the course and riding in that sweet s2000, and Andy for riding with me and making me feel comfortable with the course. This location was just fantastic.
Bruce Dally your mustang was crazy fast, I would love to know if you have some pictures of my Gray 370z number 241. I saw the Miata you had pictures of and look forward to seeing something like that of my car. Thanks
Looking forward to November

Re: October 13th TBD post event
Thanks, but it wasn't fast enough. I suppose for a street car it held it's own. Now that we understand the classes a little better I think it's time to go to come R1R's and meet the 140 treadwear "street tire" class. Even though a R888 is 100tread wear, it will never hang with a 40tread wear slick. Let alone a Stalker...aircool75 wrote:Bruce Dally your mustang was crazy fast, I would love to know if you have some pictures of my Gray 370z number 241.
But about your pics, yes, I have 51 pictures of #241. Let me get them together and I will send you a PM.

Re: October 13th TBD post event
Loved the course!!! Short, but loved the quick/fast transitions. Loved the section before the back stretch if you will. Very deceptive on how quick you could really take it (wide open). If I get the pleasure of autocrossing this car again, I'll NEVER run it without a full tank again that's for sure. She was starving for fuel at the last turn into the finish. Cost me a solid .5 seconds, if not more.
I'll post up some photos I took, mostly group 1 of the afternoon, whenever I get a chance...probably later in the week. Probably won't mess with my videos until the weekend.

Re: October 13th TBD post event
You'll have to thank Paris. She was running our car as #57. But it was all her handy work.
Guess we will have to pre volunteer as teardown help so that we can snap pictures of both run groups during our sessions. Everyone always love pictures.

Teardown seems more enjoyable than running after cones. I'm in.

Re: October 13th TBD post event
We really don't need more than 3-4 people for teardown, but anyone who's up for it, be sure to list it as a work preference when you register. (and if you're gonna do something cool like take photos while you're not working course, you might mention that in the comments/notes section... will increase your chances of getting that assignment!)
Gotta put it on your registration, though. That's what I go by when doing the run/work groups. And you can ask anybody, I don't remember much!

Re: October 13th TBD post event
Depends on where and when. At SPC, it means resetting the police training course. At Brooksville, it means carrying stacks of cones halfway down the runway. And you're committed until everything's packed in the trailer and it's hooked to the truck...doesn't matter if the event runs long, if it's raining, or if your own gear is still spread out on the pavement. Guarantees you'll be one of us last off the site.aircool75 wrote:Teardown seems more enjoyable than running after cones. I'm in.

Re: October 13th TBD post event
All true, but with the split event format, at least the tear-down folks don't have to be people who were on-site at 6 or 7am.
We've been better about trying to get someone with a truck (or event a car w/ a big trunk) to run pick up the stacks of cones, too. Usually, just requires asking someone who's towing a car to make a pick-up run before loading their car on the trailer and/or hooking up their truck.

Thanks Eric, I lucked out with two pictures! Do you know where on the course mine where taken? One the car looks pretty flat, the other has some serious roll.
