Blazing Sandals, Brought to you by F.A.S.T.?

I'm doing all the work on this rally and it's going to be quite fun. I'd love for the General FAST membership to get involved. and if I'm going ahead and buying some rally clocks and checkpoint signs I might as well bequif the equipment to a club.

Plus ability to use your existing MAE registration system would be awesome.

the support would be appreicated and it would be a good experement to see if rally can survive on the suncoast.

in my tradition I will buy dinner and drinks for all the workers. and for those living far away I have a place for you to stay.

I think a rallycross would be great. I don't have a car that would be suitable, but if we were going to get rallycross on the agenda I would be interested in buying a car and developing it.

This proposal is for a traditional Road rally, not a rally cross. this is a good way to get all the currently autocross prepped cars into rally types of motorsport without damaging their cars. I'm keeping it to twisty roads. it's 2 hours of seat time in one evening. it'll be a great blast through some hilly twisty roads (if you can beleive that I actually found 50 miles of hilly twisty roads)

That sounds good to me too. At least I have a car that can do that. I'll be interested to see how things progress with this.

What general area are you considering holding this shindig?

Are you doing a TSD rally or what type?

I am VERY interested in learning more about and doing another TSD rally I was CoDriver on one in North Georgia one time it was an BLAST.

yes I am writing a Traditional Tulip style Non-trapped rally. Actually I am writing two of them. Blazing Sandals is going to be an entry level TSD with simple instructions and very detailed route instructions so people can have fun. stay on course and drive a little tail out if they wish. it will still challange the drivers skill since it'll be at night and partly in the woods.

"Treekiller" is my baby, it's usually run during the day on much more difficult roads, almost entirely off pavement. it's invitation only since it's not for the faint of heart or someone just getting into rally.

I scouted north pasco and sothern hernando counties. there is plenty of open un interupted un-inhabited back country roads. it's a bit out there but not so much that a short drive up 75 will get you there. there you can actually hold an old fashon road rally. with on and off pavement sections. I used my sentra to scout the roads so anything I deemed "too rough" for my coil-over suspension is being left out. but there are some nice sand covered roads to "kick up some dust"

Feel free to use the forum to organize and promote the event, but FAST is gonna stick with autocrosses, and at least finish our first year, before we branch out.

Thanks for the judgement call Steve, I will keep pluging away at finding an "offical" sanctioning body, or just go all out rebel.
