November 2010 SPC Post-event

Postby Loren » Sun Nov 14, 2010 5:32 pm

Another great FAST event!

John did an awesome job of keeping things under control as event chairman.

New wireless timing hardware worked great! Will have the software sorted by the next event and that should get all of the displays working properly.

My course was well-received, which is always happy news.

I think that was one of the better courses we've had lately - the flow was excellent, and the pace was quick. I got stuck right at 35.0-ish and couldn't get any lower...though I know it could be done. Ah well, it was still a blast!

Nice job Event Chair John - well done! And many thanks to those who help pull these events together. Without the helping hands of the masses it can't be done.

Big thanks to everybody for making this event successful! I was a little nervous about chairing an event by myself first time out, but it seemed to come together nicely. Some of you really busted your tails to get things done-- awesome!

There was another lost and found sweatshirt-- gray hoodie-- I think it belongs to Chris Baron. It's in the trailer.

Hell, I didn't figure the course out and I designed it! Actually, that's not true, I think I had the course figured out and just wasn't driving my car to its full capabilities.

Awesome event John! And Loren your course was a blast. If only I had another dozen or so runs, I may have figured it out.

Someday I'll get down how to wring the speed out of my car. Until then I'll just keep having a blast trying to go faster!

Couldn't say it any better !!

John did a great job ! Things did move along very well, I was surprised that the last run group finished at 3:30; figured it would've been much later. That shows a well run event with lots of people chipping in to move things along.

I realise now that the new timing equipment must've worked well, didn't notice any delays due to timing (and if there was, it was cleared up quick!), so that shows it's a good system. Really dig the fancy tripod trap light stands, looks like a pretty easy system to set up, I need to learn how it works.

I was very happy with the new "drift machine", handled much better than I could've imagined, it was a blast to drive!

Had tons of fun today, glad to be back, and as long as the "D M" holds up I should be around for a while. 8)

Great fun, beautiful day, and awesome folks.

Appreciate the event chairman for flexibility in the drifting category :D ...although I thought Brian K was going to show us how it is done in the 240SX.

Thanks for another event!

Great job guys. Mike and I just registered for the Brooksville December event, which may be a bit more forgiving to the cobras.

Arrrgh...that final run was soooo close! Fancy Loren designing a power course...if you picked up the right line, it was possible to go WOT from the bottom of the "8" to the second-to-last turn before the finish. Fun!

I think most of my courses end up being "power courses" even though I don't intend them to be, and I rarely include any true straights of any significant length. It's just because I like smooth, flowing turns, even if the "smooth flowing line" is not always obvious. A smooth flowing turn can be accelerated through, especially if you're not in a FWD car.

Glad you liked it!
