Depending on weather we can grab food before/after.
Post up if you think you can make it, and we'll give the track a head count.

Dude, that sounds fun! I'll have to see if I can make it.
Those 3-race packages really wear me out, though! And last time I went... I was poised to kick my boss' ass after practice and qualifying... then they put me out in the race in a kart with no brakes. Now, as I understand it, that course CAN be driven without brakes. But, since I'd done all my practicing WITH brakes, and I'm generally one who likes to charge hot into a turn and USE the brakes... it just didn't work for me! After hitting several walls pretty hard, I bailed out on my second lap.
I highly recommend TGP to anyone who hasn't been, though. High-torque electric karts. Fast, good-handling and fun!

Loren, that sounds like a an excuse!

A similar thing happened to me once (I think I actually broke the brake cable on the second lap) during race #2. I still won the race! (Maybe my competition wasn't as fierce... (shrug)).
Anyway, if enough show up where we can't all compete in one long race, we could do three independent races (sans the practice and qualifying) for the same price. It breaks thing up a bit too.

I live less than a mile from there but have never gone, maybe this is the excuse I need. I have plans Saturday afternoon but might be able to leave early enough to make it.

I would LOVE to do this! However, I'm super busy that weekend. If you organize another one, I'll definitely put everything aside to attend.

I'm tentative, depending on what the kids want to do...I'm single-parenting that week. Too bad Sophia's only old enough to drive the junior karts...we've put her out in fun karts before, and she's a killer on the track. Had a natural instinct for making the kart very wide....

I've been there before, and those karts are a blast! Put me down for a big, fat, maybe!

It really depends how the weather holds up. Saturday has 30% chance of rain -- less chance than most days this week. If things are dry when we get there, we'll probably take advantage and drive then. If not, we may get something to eat and wait it out. Worst case scenario, it just turns into a social...

There's always a 30% chance of rain this time of year.
If I don't make a run to Sarasota this weekend, I'll probably be there.

I should be able to make it. I think I raced there once before... I'd recommend tossing your helmet in the car unless you want to use a loaner.

How did it go? I was planning on heading there but the rain delayed my plans for the day.

On the plus side my Honda got a well needed Mothers Clay Bar treatment, hasn't been this shiney since it was new. 8)

I feel your pain Jamie - 11 hours painting my new office, and it's still not done...
Hope everyone who did go had a blast!

It was a blast! I had never done the Grand Prix package before...that's my preference now. After the practice and qualifying, they started us in a grid with a standing start -- F1 style! There were nine of us total which made for some great wheel-to-wheel action. The top three finishers really battled it out at the end. John Edwards vehemently defended his pole to take the trophy!
