Holy FAST course, Batman. Huge amounts of fun. Pretty sure I was tickling 70mph today.
Doug..... Better luck next time...

Congrats Jason. Guess Charcoal beats Titanium today. You were 23rd and I was 25th OA with Dave only a couple places back in 28th. Cones ruled the finish as they have many times before. You were crazy fast right out of the box!!
This was another course that required correct placement of the car and the shifter. I really liked it. Condolences to Ben with the Fastiva losing it's head. He awesomely went on to win the class in Soraya's Fit. Takes away some of the sting for all that work this week biting he and Loren in the butt. It will be back soon.
Thanks for another great day autocrossing.
Doug

I am sure you mean that you nearly reached 69 mph. Our insurance requires maximum speed to not exceed 70 mph, so we would never design a course that would exceed this speed limit. I know it seemed fast, but since you weren't looking at your speedo, I can assure you that you only reached 67 mph or so.

Whew! Aside from blowing up the FASTiva, it was a great event! Thanks to the usual cast of EVERYONE for pulling together to make it happen, especially those who helped pack up the trailer at the end of the day.
Personal thanks to Rob Ledwell for letting me finish my runs in his Fiero. That car has a LOT of potential! And to Les Davis for hauling my tired self home.

Wow it was nice out, today. That concrete sure makes it seem hotter than it is! Thank goodness it wasn't July - I'd be too wiped to be typing this right now.
And, so, yeah, I guess I'm the only one who got his full slate of runs in the Fastiva V2.0, and I squandered them by coning 3 of my 4 runs.

I think this is 4 of the last 5 events I've coned away my fastest time (among others). The car felt quite smooth, at least until the head gasket ceased performing its designated function. As always, if only I had one more run...
Sure hope Bob and the other Bob both got their leaks addressed...lots of fluids flowing today...
Thank you very much to everyone who helped make this another successful event. I love the teamwork behind this sport - we can't do it without each other.

Today's event was run so well! As per usual, really. But this time it felt real good. It was great having my brother and I duke it out with the same car this time around. And Steve, I feel the same sting today. My best run, smothered by a single cone
Great job today everybody!

I never hit rev limiter which is 68 and I'm pretty fast as anyone in the open areas.

That WAS a fun course. Didn't do it fast enough to crush the Festiva this time...all those clean runs must mean gotta be pushing harder! There is this limitation of only being able to go all the way to the metal with the pedal on the Bluesight...got to fix that...but it keeps staying close (if you ignore Ben's Fitting sans-Festiva run).

Hey guys, listen up during the drivers' meeting when they tell you to stop for a downed cone...
Doug's best run was a clean run, but as we passed a downed cone on the way back, I saw that it was already down, and assumed the workers had seen it. I told Doug about it but we had already passed it, and he was having a good run, so we continued.
Unfortunately, it seems that they called it against him. His fastest run should have been a clean 45.417, but he got a penalty. Oh well, that's the way it goes. Lesson learned.
Other than that, thanks to all for another well run event. Our new tires made the whole event much more enjoyable. No more worrying about driving tentatively and spinning out.

Dear All,
Thanks for a great first time! Now I am definitely hooked and signed up for some more events closer to where I live in Jacksonville. Big shoutout to the novice instructor, I am sorry I forgot your name but you provided everyone with some very good advice during the course walk. Also another big shoutout to my driving instructor. Reminding me after the first run to always be looking ahead and out the window near the skid pad. I am sorry I forgot everyone's names. I guess that's what happens when you have too much fun. Anyways, see you at another event soon!
Take Care,
Kyle C

Glad you had a good time, Kyle. Appreciate the feedback.
Too bad there's no autocross anywhere near Jax, though...guess you'll just have to come back here.

The buccaneer reigon!! They have events about 4 miles from where I live up there and then some at the FIRM in Starke which is about as far as brooksville is from my home in Tampa. I will be back for brooksville in march! Hopefully have enough races under my belt in time for the greyhound track. Now that is real close to my house it Tampa!
