Okay,
Here are the Results.
Great event! It was the largest turnout we've had since the last Tampa Bay Downs event, and went very smoothly. Thanks to everyone for helping make that happen!
The course was great fun! At least I thought so. Wish I'd put more focus on driving it!

Well, it was about time I got back out again and saw y'all...been way too long. Hopefully my schedule will be more friendly this year.
I thought the course was great. It kept you at speed and you really had to think ahead of yourself, cuz if you got behind it was very hard to get caught up. Some folks might have felt there were some elements that were a little too "cozy" but, at least in a Miata, I found no problem getting through the course - you just had to keep yourself positioned correctly. My cone counts and finish will attest to how well I did that (although I did make it into the "39 club"). Don't care though - I had a blast!
Thanks very much to everyone who helped out and made the day go by very smoothly. I'm already looking forward to my next chance to get out there! See y'all soon.

Loved today's course! Fast and fun. Much more accessible compared to the last course.
Appreciate the instruction and help discovering the bonkers 72 lb/ft tire pressure in the front right. What the!?!? Saved the afternoon figuring that out.
Got a 39 second run in on that last run but also tipped a cone unfortunately. Has me itching for the next event!

I took a run in Paul's Mustang. (yes, I did... just one) Even in that, I didn't feel the course was tight anywhere, and ran a 40.019 with no cones.
Nathan ran a 40.8 to win S3 in... a Pontiac G8.0
'nuff said?

Nathan's fast (FN) time was a 40.2. Yes, 'nuff said!

Tight? Hell no. This course was wide open!
Really great course! I look forward to seeing more like it in the future! I didn't mind the short length at all. It felt just right.
Now if I could just get a run together....

For the guys that knew I was not feeling well towards the end of the event... I made it home safely. I think it was a combination of just recovering from a bad cold, bad food last night, dehydration and still trying to do both early and late sessions.
Anywho overall today was fun as usual, to me the course drove well, I'm realizing my car has a ton more grip than I thought If I just drive it right...

I saw some other people with cameras so I hope some of those images or videos are posted.
I still can't get over how much fun I can have at one of these events.
HUGE thanks to John ( if I got your name wrong I'm so sorry, I'm terrible at remembering names ) for letting me borrow his camera. The videos are are huge help for me to improve my driving skill.
My recorded times from the day, not including the runs that didn't get picked up by timing and scoring.

I'm happy with my time after factoring in old shocks and all-season tires. But still I feel I let the car down, it should have been in the 40s. At least Loren thinks I'm number one...

I really like todays course. It brought a bit of everything. 1 fast slalom, a couple tighter slaloms, a challenging turn around, and sweeping fast transitions.
It's Brooksville, so you know there's going to be some slaloms. I don't feel it was a "tight" course, rather it was tight in areas...like a good autocross should be...and fast in others.
Here's my thoughts:
-The two "3 cone slaloms" required breaking on entry. There was a definite advantage to entering on the right on the last one. Late breaking and getting the speed right was key to losing less time.
-The turn around needed an appropriate entry that wasn't too slow or too fast. I round myself double apexing on my fastest runs.
-The sweeping turns on the return side required good throttle modulation and staying ahead (which is true in any autocross).
Thanks for an awesome course and a great day.

Good to know you got home ok. Hope you feel better. (and you too, Tony - sounds like you and Nathan had the same crud...).
Philip - great pix. Especially the cones in the fog. Thanks for posting them!

I was totally busted by a wide-angle lens!
Good runs, Philip! So, can anyone tell me if all the people who spun off into the grass after the first 3-cone slalom tried to enter that slalom on the left? Seems like they'd almost have to in order to end up where they did. I took that slalom to the right every time and never had any hint of an issue.
Lots of ill people out and about yesterday. Hope we weren't too much of a petri dish!

The first three cone slalom, before the kink? Took it to the left every time, as it set up a better entry to the kink. Never came close to spinning -- it wasn't that tight.
Video, especially for the Mayor, because he enjoys them so much.

you don't need a wide-angle lens when your salute is directly in front of the lens! heh.
I took that first slalom to the right every time. Because dimwit.
