Yes we did run short on subs, but I think only a couple people were affected; I was one of them and i think John Evans was another, but Dave O'Neil was nice enough to split his with me :) . Yes we shouldn't run short, and we need to "fix" the problem in the future, but I don't think anyone was upset about it. Just my 2¢

Steve, I'll drop off the reg papers Monday afternoon.

I snoozed and lost on lunch, but found a pretty decent pulled pork sandwich and baked beans down the street, so I'm cool. I think Dave Balogh, Aaron Parke and guest had to do without lunch.

I know a few people came up to the trailer and also paid for lunch, so we certainly had more than 18.
Help us out, people! Pre-register both yourself AND your guests so that we get an accurate lunch count.
It also makes figuring out the run groups and work assignments easier, so events run smooth...that translates to more runs, for those of you who like 'em.

Something to consider -- we're getting pretty few no-shows...only five this time, and two of those we knew about shortly after preregistration closes. We could increase the pre-registration total and dispense with the walk-ons. I know they're popular, though.

Just to clarify this a bit, what will be reimbursed is double the usual cost of a guest lunch, so you'll get $10, and the offer is limited until our next event. Not too many people were affected, but we do want to offer our "mea culpas."

Great to be back out and shaking the cobwebs out of the old girl.. she needs some love.. but I knew that, I was happy to finish all my runs without it breaking.. Ironically My finish is exactly the same as my first ever auto-cross 6th from DFL.

I think the primary reason we've always allowed walk-up registration at SPC is to allow first-timers who just show up to get in. I wonder, though, just how often that actually happens. I think that if a person has gone far enough to learn where and when the event is, they usually go ahead and pre-register.

Part of me could get behind going pre-reg only, but since SPC allows us to offer the convenience of some on-site registration...

Maybe we just need to tighten it up so that it's less of a variable? Leave pre-reg at 65, and allow five and only five additional walk-ups for a total of 70 (or the number pre-registered plus 5, NEVER MORE THAN THAT).

What do the guys doing registration think? If we limit it to 5 walk-ups, they're the ones that will have to keep that walk-up list and ultimately have to tell someone "no", which we've never done before at SPC.

I say leave it the way it is and adjust the food count as needed. I don't think Subway would care if you asked them to throw in another 10 sandwiches once you saw the high number of walk on's.

I can't see creating a barrier to entry just to make it easier to order food. Is this an autocross club or a cafeteria? :)

A fair number of walkups are actually noobs who get dragged in at the last minute by a buddy who preregistered. I would guess half of them...usually.

We've run out of food 2 times counting this one in the last 3 or 4 years.

I had a great time, had a few poorly executed drifts, and a donut. I apologize to the course workers for making them clean up after me. ;)

No.

Not gonna invent a "lunch police" position. Too much of a hassle. Too "unfriendly".

For all we know, they shorted us on sandwiches. I know we didn't count them.

Eh, going to Wendy's wasn't any effort. No interest in getting the $10, save it for the club. Appreciate the offer though
