I can do setup/teardown as well, or whatever else needs to be done except picking up lunch (neither the S nor the Miata I should be using has much truck space :P )

I guess whenever Kim or Derek decide to. :D I don't think they've been on the webboard in a while.

I'll update now... we've found ourselves in quite a bad spot recently involving a move. Things have been rough to say the least :?

Anywho... we are moved now and can actually try and get things straightened out, sorry about the lapse there... but we're back and in full swing again :)

Ok... updates are done... and John, I did give you safety since you said you preferred it.

I'm going to try and have to course available early, so I'll let you know as soon as that happens... if anyone has any ideas or suggestions before I finish it I'm open to hearing them :)

Certainly everything is up for discussion/suggestions. However, with the safety/course marshal review of your draft, we will take care of the majority of that up front.

Has John been trained as a course marshal and done it under supervision? Couldn't find him on Loren's list of trainees.

Hey, Event Chairs and Safety and Grid (whoever you may turn out to be), and anyone else concerned - you got a Kart registered for this event. Here's some information you may want:

No, he hasn't. To get him started, I passed on some of the reading material that Loren gave me regarding safety rules and course design. While I have been TRAINED by Loren, I probably wouldn't fall into the TRAINER category just yet. I'll leave that for the veterans for now. Yellow_Colorz_PDT_20

Kim - best not to give John that work assignment until Loren or his delegate has had a chance to train him.

Jaime,

Thank you for your concern. I have sent Loren a PM and am awaiting his response. Let's see if I can get trained before we jump the gun and remove me from the assignment.

I am not sure what your rush is, it's still a month out. What do you think?

Thanks,

John

Typically part of the training is actually following along with the course review and the check the day it's set up.

Proper safety training requires a lot of OJT. It's not possible to train a completely green safety steward to the point that they can be relied upon to ensure a safe event without at least 2 events of "shadow" training.

My opinion: Someone who is already qualified needs to do safety for this event.

OK, the gods have spoken. I'll do the safety thing some other time. Hopefully this year.

Thanks

Ok... all that said and done... I need someone new for safety please :)
