Boost leak you feel, or see on the gauge? If latter, bad gauge?

Okay, after looking at your dyno sheet, from a realistic and autocross perspective:
You're talking about 0.5 psi (of about 14 psi) of boost. Unless the car is mysteriously running lean under boost or has an ignition timing problem, it's SAFE to autocross, and that half-psi isn't going to make a difference on course. (don't make me play the FASTiva card... 63 hp)
From a technical perspective, I'd consider that it might not be a leak. What other things can effect peak boost? Car probably has electronic boost control, what inputs affect it? Maybe you got some bad fuel? Maybe your plugs are getting worn? Maybe the knock sensor is picking up a tiny bit of knock at 4k for one of those reasons, and dialing back the timing... which reduces power output, which reduces boost?
But, I'm not a turbo guy, so that's all I got.
If the car isn't going to blow itself up, autocross it!

Philip -- what's this "fun run" nonsense!? The band is showing up...if we can get Jason out of bed, we'll have the ES/S4 power in central Florida gathered in one spot! Better than the state championships!

Ugh... I hate unsolved puzzles. If this were a problem in any other field where I had expertise... look at which parts have components that I can not visually inspect or technically test and replace them one by one starting with the cheapest / easiest one and see which solves the problem? I have been learning that working on cars requires some unorthodox voodoo skills.

Dirty air filter or obstruction on inlet side like leaves, mice nest, a shop rag or old Mustang parts? Sucking air on inlet side?
Blow off valve not staying shut under full boost (like Loren said)? Pull off blow off actuator hose (assuming they still use that?) and plug should over boost then. If it's all electric I have no idea. I thought these new Fords all have 20 second over boost built in?

There are now FOUR entries available in this event. Don't say nobody told ya.

Didn't notice the dyno plot...never mind.

I'm running a Cobb AP3 so I'm able to log all of those different parameters. I'm not seeing any abnormal negative ignition timing corrections, or knock, I haven't pulled the plugs yet but they are only 6-8mos old. It shouldn't be a fuel issue, ran down two tanks of gas and E85 blend from two different stations. I checked the BOV for air leaks when I used the compressor. I guess I could pull it off, clean it and reinstall
As far as boost though, the graph for boost psi is to the right. I used to peak at about 22.5, right now I'm peaking about 21.5 and it goes down to about a 3-4 psi drop overall. basically the "sneaky leak" is bringing me down to stock numbers. Mid 270's WHP down to 240's.
I need all of the go fast advantage I can have to be competitive in M2, but I guess as long as the car is "safe" to drive and I'm not gonna break anything, it's all about having fun right?

What you really need to do is wrap your head around the fact that even in M2, it's NOT all about horsepower. This ain't drag racing.
Classic events are all about fun and practice! Just like you spend time between points events tuning your car to improve your horsepower, you need to tune YOURSELF between points events to improve your skills. Guess which one is going to make more difference in your time?

I would argue that the extra HP hurts you sometimes more then helps, AutoX is more about proper line, not slowing down etc. I'm finding out that all this extra power just pushes me off line and puts me in bad spots...
.....that said... omg it's awesome...

lol I totally agree, I just use the extra power as my crutch because I'm still a newbie AutoX driver who definitely slows down and mashes the breaks when I should still be on the gas.. it's scary going fast!

Your car has so much going for it with you driving it, theyre waiting for you to make like a Ford and have the wheels fall off. go race SCCA, sandbagger lol
if my schedule allowed, id actually race a season and learn to drive. I've had this car a year and have entered in a hand full of events but no actual prior experience with a RWD car.

It's not the size of the wand that determines the magic it can perform. S1 is an ever changing class because the SCCA keeps moving cars in and out of BS in particular. I had a 90 Talon AWD and Mitsubishi Conquest Tsi both in BS for a couple years running against 944S2 limited edition/rare Porsche's. The big money still says the C5 is the car to have at the National level. It's up to the FOCuss to prove them wrong. The Boxster S is moving out to CS in 2017 Nationally and a gaggle of Porsche are moving down from AS (S1 doesn't care.). It won't surprise me if they put one of the brand new 1LE Camaro's in BS for 2017. ^^^NONE of this affects FAST who's season has all ready begun at least not until Sept.
If we used the proposed D.L. scoring method he would only get 2 pts for winning if he can win against that S2k? Courses do make a difference sometimes. I'll be on a really big ship with wife for that whole week. Will have a needed designated driver. See you Jan 14th. Let the competition begin.
