Trailer fix-up day Nov 10

Postby Native » Sat Oct 20, 2018 10:08 pm

Would you believe it's been 2 and a half years since we did any serious work on the trailer? I didn't till I looked it up myself... March 2016.

There's not quite as much to do this time, but a few things do need attention:

Replace desktop
Replace foot on tongue jack
Fix 2 driving lights (bulbs)?
New bins
Clean helmets
Scrub off the mildew along the roof
Track down and seal off the last leak
Repair tv box
Probably other stuff I'm not thinking of at the moment.

Could really use 2 or 3 (or more) volunteers to go at it with me. Food and drink will surely be involved.

Looking at Sat Nov 10. Probably get started about 10.
At my place in St Pete.

Please post here if you would be willing to come by and play!

Sally had this idea to stencil "Close The Damned Lid" or some such on the cooler lids. Couldn't hurt, I suppose.

Anyway... I'm sure I'll be there.

Dang! I work that Saturday in Lakeland and that sucks, because a trailer I KNOW my way around and could actually help with --as in actually doing stuff to it short of welding--

What size bulbs does the trailer use? I may have some spares around that I hung on to even after I upgraded my trailer's to LEDs.

Steve, I think we've already got one driving lesson booked for noon on 11/10. I can take that one, if need be. Might want to be sure the morning is blocked.

That's the FIRM FL State Championship weekend. You might lose a few workers. Has it really been two years? We did good work then!! I booked a room incase I still have enough tires left for it?

Yeah, I mentioned the State Champs to Steve. But, realistically... probably not more than 5-10 FAST folks are going to go up to the Firm for that. That should leave enough people in town to help. Its not like we need 50 people, or anything.

Yep. Steve, Matt and I made the trailer last for 2 years. Had a great day of male bonding. I learned the superiority of a corded drill over a fancy battery one. A great day in St Pete which I never had before.

At this point, me, Philip, Ben, Soraya, Phillip and Mark Russell. You should have enough left over.

I should be around to help with the trailer. Work might have other ideas but I should be around for a bit.

I can cut some vinyl stencils if you want.....lol

I don't know how well a sticker would stay stuck to the lid. I tried to make some for a cooler once and they would not stay stuck, even using quality vinyl.

Make a stencil and paint them.

The paint marker I used on the plastic bins held up well. May try that...stencil or not.

The volunteerism is weak with this one.

Y'all know Steve's gonna buy you lunch, right? And you get to learn all kinds of insider information about our equipment and stuff. :dunno:

We got electrical.
We got carpentry.
We got cleaning/detailing.
We got Tetris (efficiently and tightly repacking new stuffs).
We got good times.
In other words - something for everyone.
Come on out and play to your strength!

Yall are missing out on a good time.
Steve has the most organized garage ever. You can actually find shit.

Look under "your ass". If you find "your ass" that means you showed up. Otherwise "your ass" will stay lost forever.
Steve, Matt and I had a great long day a couple years ago fixing that Carney ex-food wagon and a great lunch too which amazed me (the food guy). No tetanus required. It's wood.

Okay. Steve will give you the ONLY FTD sticker of your life for enjoying yourself on a Saturday. That's how I got mine. Fat Trailer Detailer.
