Re: Volvo DOHC head on a Ford 2.3

why not use the volvo 2.3 16 valve block and head, the castings alone are worth more then a whole ford motor. an oil squiter 2.3 is good till about 525 hp. before the rest of the car falls apart.

Re: A tremor in the Force. The last time I felt it was...

Not much autoX action up here. I was down at Sebring a month ago. No cones there, well it you hit one there is a bigger problem.

I missed the FIRM (New name for ERS) autocross last week. but next event I'll have my 3/4" Mustang rear sway-bar modified to fit.

Re: September 2011 at SPC

I'm on board... finally an event to suit my slow car :-) don't know if I can commit to being a "co-chair" since I never know if I'll be free or booked on an autocross day. but I'll help anyway I can.

Re: July 2011 Event

When I took Mckamey (now evolution) level one auto-cross school I was convinced I had to learn to left foot brake to be fast.. when I think it was G.H. Sharp, or Rob Falkner (Can't remember which one). told me to stop trying. He said, "I won a championship without left foot braking" concentrate on ...

Okay, I couldn't resist, sorry Ron...but, looking at you I don't think there are many others who have done lunch more than you. :rolling:

Re: 2011/12 Season Rule Updates?

That's why I said a pro class or a novice class. If you have 10+ years experience you should not be competing against people that are just starting. It's pretty discouraging for them.. I remember starting out and I couldn't WAIT to "graduate" from Novice.. but that was with SCCA with an established ...

Re: Lunch and fees and stuff

I do think mixing it up occasionally is not a bad thing.. The BBQ was awesome that one time. Pizza is okay as is subs.. it's funny though there is never any left over subs and I eat for days after a pizza event. so I can tell there is a demand shift.

Re: 2011/12 Season Rule Updates?

I'd like to see a "novice" and/or "pro" level.. Novice as just a place for the first timers to feel comfortable and give them something... a little trinket means a lot to a first timer, and let them "win" their way into their respective open class.

Pro.. I mean I don't take class points seriously ...

Don't worry about classing your first time out. like any sport you won't be good your first time out.. but enjoy it.. because the speed comes with experience. It's a blast even driving slow.. heck I've been driving slow for eek ~18 years. but I love every min, keeps me coming back. Last things to ...

Thanks Jeff. I decided to take it to Vortex. I was taking it there for an alignment anyway. I liked the work they did on my Beemer, so just stuck with what I knew. See you at Brooksville tomorrow!
